Admit it ladies, we always check out who’s outfit is better than ours. Celebrities are sometimes labeled on how they dress and rated on how they looked in the same get-up as another celebrity. I found these photos online and thought, let’s see who shined the most in the same outfit. Who do you think nailed it or sunk it?

In my previous blogs, I talked about the reasons why you should expand your wardrobe by adding different colors based on what the each color stands for. Now I’m back on that kick. As I was surfing various online boutiques, I noticed there is a trending color this spring – MINT. I mean it’s not hard to fall in love with this color because it’s calm, girly and secretly BOLD!

Today is the first full day of SPRING! For certain parts of the US, winter jackets and gloves are not yet tucked away in the attic. But don’t fret…spring weather will be coming real soon. When I think of spring, I think of bright flowers, colorful outfits, birds chirping and open windows bringing in a cool breeze. As life embraces the change of season, spring is not complete without a handy trench coat.
If there’s one trend that embraces the essence of spring, is a relaxed and fun trench coat. Every year, designers come out with the most captivating trench coats I’ve ever seen. I love how it goes from casual to dressy and everything in between. We all need one.

So, why do you need a trench coat? 1. Trench coats will never ever go out of style. 2. Trench coats are incredibly versatile and can be worn with skinny jeans and flats, dresses and heels or anything in between. 3. Trench coats pull together any look and add a pop to your outfit.
Will you be adding a new trench coat to your spring wardrobe? I hope so! Here are a few shopping options that are worth the splurge. Tell me what is your favorite trench coat!
One day, my son came home from school with a rip in the knee of his Levi jeans. I know young boys play rough on the playground, but my goodness I just bought those jeans! I was ready to toss them out in the trash, until I had a revelation. I can turn these basic one “rip in the knee” jeans into something cool and comfortable for my son.
There’s nothing we like more than a trend that is comfortable and looks effortlessly chic. Distressed denim jeans are back this season featuring rips in the knee going up to thigh-level and extremely frayed edges. The best thing about this look is that you don’t have to spend any money on new jeans.
Below are some cool ideas and instructions on how to make your own pair of jeans extremely in style.
Dress your distressed jeans with a leather jacket, collared shirt, leather bag and awesome ankle boots for a look that’s edgy and shows power (Picture 1).
Take the high fashion path and throw on an oversided coat and a basic top. You can also add in a few accessories (Picture 2).
You can also cuff your jeans and show off a bold pair of heels. A little height goes a long way to highlight your legs and balance the loose fit with confidence (Picture 3).
If you’re into the urban-grunge look, go with a graphic crop top and tie a sweater around your waist. Top it off with a slouchy beanie for extra cool points. PLUG…check out www.coco-rain.com for slouchy beanies (Picture 4).
I found these three EASY steps on how to create your own distressed denim jeans.
Lay your jeans down on a flat surface and mark a line at your knee. You can either fold each pant leg in half (line up the bottom hem with the crotch) and mark at the fold or try your jeans own and measure it that way.
Cut horizontal lines about half an inch apart, starting at the knee line and going upwards as far as you prefer. Leave about an inch of space on each side. Wider spaces between the cuts will leave more threads in your hole, whereas lines that are cut closer to each other will likely end up as gaps.
There are two ways to loosen the threads: A) Loosen and pull out the threads by hand - this is a more tedious process, but you can control how many horizontal threads you want to leave in. B) Throw your jeans into the washer and dryer and let the machine do the work. You can also start with this step and alter the rips by hand afterwards if you’re not satisfied with the results. Use a grater to add the finishing touches by fraying the edges and any other patches you want to distress.
You can also try this with your denim shorts or cut-off jeans. Give this trend a try and let me know what you think!
St. Patrick’s Day is this Monday and green is the color. I am not Irish, but I sure love the color green. I guess it’s because money is GREEN! If you are planning to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, consider a pair of festive earrings. These adorable green earrings not only work for St. Patrick’s Day but they can be worn all year long!
When I look to purchase a pair of jeans, I look for LENGTH! I am all about length. I am a tall person, so I love having my jeans lay over my shoes. Now…what if I have some shoes I want to “show off” such as boots or cool flats? Cuff them baby, right?
Cuffing your jeans is such an art that it has to be right.
Some folks get in a dilemma on what’s the best way to cuff jeans. I know what you’re thinking. I don’t want to look crazy! I don’t want you too either. Here are a few acceptable options for turning up your pant hems.
The Urkle - You remember Steve Urkle from the hit show, Family Matters? Steve took nerd fashion to a whole new level. The TV star’s on-screen wardrobe consisted of plaid button-down shirt, suspenders, “high waters” and loafers. To achieve the Urkle cuff you must put those socks on display, going as high as you need to with those cuffs. Cute, huh?
The Roll Up - Start with boyfriend jeans (baggier, the better) and roll them up. This style looks best mixed with posh elements like fabulous jewelry and high heels.
The Greaser - Known as the tough-girl cuff, this fold stays low at the ankle. It will take your look from blah to “you go girl” in no time. Only fold your pants twice and keep it straight.
The Micro - This cuff can make a HUGE impact on your look. When wearing flats, roll up your cuff slightly to balance out the proportions. You’ll not only appear a little taller, but the cuff acts as a highlighter for those shoes you want everyone to see.
The Hottie - The most girly and elegant cuff of the bunch. Take skinny jeans and neatly fold them two or three times, showing off your ankles.
Cuff away baby. Cuff away!
As the most anticipated show of Paris Fashion Week, Nicolas Ghesquière proved he was the perfect choice to replace Marc Jacobs with his debut of Louis Vuitton’s autumn/winter collection.
Many wondered whether Ghesquière could succeed Marc Jacobs as the label’s new creative director.
The verdict was made. Ghesquière’s clear, coherent and masterful collection was a success, which he clearly captured Louis Vuitton’s essence.
The collection featured wintry palette of blacks, beiges, browns and the occasional dash of red, with leather used not only for accessories, but in many of the pieces themselves. Skirts were short, gently flared and cinched at the waist while trousers were tight-fitting. Overall, this is a casual and functional collection that every woman could modernity love.
Do you like the collection?
